A Century of Holbrook Under One Roof
Our home at 121 Bucket of Blood Street was raised in 1916, and it has worn many faces since. Over the years it has been Holbrook's first telephone exchange, a barbershop, a confectionary, and a long line of bars, remembered best as the Arizona Tavern.
When we set out to bring it back, we chose to keep that past in plain sight. The hand-painted Arizona Tavern mural and the old A-1 sign still preside over our single open room, now sharing the walls with the work of today's local artists.
The name carries its own tribute. A gandy dancer was a railroad worker who laid and tended the tracks by hand, work our grandfather began at just fifteen, a fitting name in a town the railroad built. We spent more than a year bringing this building back by hand, and we made it for the whole community.
A Gallery for Everyone Local
We are open to anyone making art in or around Holbrook, and we keep it simple for both artists and collectors.

Painters, carvers, silversmiths, potters, metal workers, photographers, and more. We hold no fixed idea of what art should be, only that it is made with care.
